Description: A critical account, from an Orthodox point of view, of the western theological thought, from the 11th century until the beginning of the Reformation (16th century). The following issues are especially taken into consideration: Anselm of Canterbury and his theory of Atonement; Abelard and the dialectical method in theology; St. Victor’s School and the history of salvation; Bonaventura and his platonic-augustinian theology; Thomas Aquinas and Christian Aristotelianism; Duns Scotus and Ockham in the twilight of classical Metaphysics; Luther and the main aspects of his theological revolution.
